The NFL arrives at the first Sunday of its 2023 season with 190 players from Alabama high schools and colleges on the rosters of its 32 teams. The players include 138 who are on the 53-player active rosters, another 39 who are on the 16-player practice squad carried by each team and 13 players who are on the various types of reserve lists. Two practice-squad members can be elevated to active status by each team for each game, making them eligible to play. Players on reserve lists are not eligible to play.
